This silver Cigar Band was hand stamped with symbols that were inspired by my heritage of the proud Chickasaw tribe.  I call this piece "planting."   You can see the corn seeds, and then the beautiful bounty of Corn stalks surrounding the seed.

  • The Chickasaw considered seeds as sacred gifts from the Earth. Seeds were seen as a symbol of abundance, fertility, and sustenance. Corn represents more than just a staple food for the Chickasaw; it symbolizes sustenance, fertility, and community.

Native Americans have a deep respect for corn and its symbolism. It is treated with reverence and gratitude, and its importance is reflected in all aspects of Native American life. Whether used in rituals, ceremonies, or everyday meals, corn is a vital part of Native American culture and heritage.
